Good Morning! It's so great to be home and to wake up to the chirping birds and soft summer breezes. Of course, to make it even better, I can enjoy a good cup of coffee to get the day off to a great start. For the 10 months that we are on the road I always make the morning coffee...but when we come home...Larry makes it and serves it to me in my easy chair. He makes the best coffee. He starts with flavored coffee and adds this and that and wow is it yummy!

I tease him about the only thing he "doesn't" put into it is "gummy bears"! When the family comes home at Christmas they always request dad's "gummy bear" coffee. Hey, maybe he could start his own coffee shop. HA!

This week has been an office and domestic week. Larry was mowing grass,  pulling weeds and raking leaves from last fall! When we left on tour January 5th we shoveled our way out of snow banks so it was nice coming home to green grass. I couldn't wait to plant a few flowers just to make our home look like someone really lives here. That was wonderful therapy!

On Saturday we drove to Glenwood, MN and set up our equipment at the Glenwood, MN altar callbeautiful Minnewaska Assembly of God church. We were greeted by another
gracious, sweet spirited pastor and wife, Mark & Kathy Geselle. We had a great soul-winning Sunday service. Once again the altar was lined with young people and adults making decisions for Christ. There were several first time decisions. Pastor Geselle and the congregation rejoiced at the 'new births'. Pastor Mark & Kathy Geselle, sons Arren & Andrew
Pastor Mark commented, "It was exciting to see people respond to an evangelist's altar call for salvation. Than is not always the case, but as a pastor it is always my hope. Thank you for your emphasis on preaching for souls. We were blessed both in the service and also in our time together with you after. You were an encouragement to us and we look forward to seeing you again and having you minister in the Minnewaska area."

It was a delight to see our friends, Dave & Joan Ward from Alexandria, MN. They have been very active in ministry and are still touching lives. Joan was one of our counselors on Sunday morning and she did a great job. Joan will be having hip replacement surgery and she told me, Dave & Joan Ward"Gloria, thank you for sharing the story of your injury to your foot. How encouraging to hear once again of God's care of each of us. It really was a miracle and it gave me reassurance of God's going before me too."

We always love to see young couples, such as Dawn and Barry Larson from Alexandria, MN who also attended the Sunday service. We've known Dawn since she was a little girl and it's always a joy Barry & Dawn Larsonto see them grow up, marry a good Christian, and serve the Lord. Dawn shared with us, "The rally in Glenwood was awesome! So many people went forward, including family members. It was such a great day! I still cry tears of joy when I think about it."

We praise God for a great soul-winning weekend. During the week we are busy at our home office working on booking, mail, writing, etc. In the evening Larry and I try to catch-up on housework. Last night I was out in back of our home pulling weeds. These huge thistles invaded our lawn. I put on garden gloves to prevent the stickers from pricking me. I'd pull out one and there was another and another and each one got bigger with the roots dug in. I was leaning over pulling on a huge thistle and pulled so hard I lost my balance and fell backwards. Determined to pull it out by the root I grumbled, "I hate you, you nasty old weed! You are coming out!". Gloria gardeningJust then I was convicted and challenged and I prayed, "God please help me to hate sin as much as I hate these weeds." Our lives are like a garden. Sin starts small and gets rooted in our lives, growing up almost unnoticed, then the roots grow deeper and deeper. Soon one sin leads to two, then three... if we don't take care of them they will take over our lives! It takes work-24 hours a day to keep the weeds of sin-- hatred, jealousy, unforgiveness, complacency, coldness, etc., out of our spiritual lives. We cannot do it on our own-we have to ask God to help us. My daily prayer is David's that he wrote in Psalms 51:10, "Create in me a clean heart, O God." and the one in Psalm 19:14, "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer." It's my prayer Lord, let me hate sin and love you more everyday.

Well, it's already the second week of June. Time sure flies. I must go now. Have a fantastic week!

Greetings from Sisseton, SD! This photo pretty much describes how I look at the end of this many month tour. I kidded Larry that he worked me to the bone....literally! HA!

ON THE ROAD definitely describes our lives! Since 1965, Larry and I have been on the road for over 300 days a year, living in a motorcoach with our three children. We can say like that old song goes…the highway is our home!

May 31,2006

Greetings from Sisseton, SD! This photo pretty much describes how I look at the end of this many month tour. I kidded Larry that he worked me to the bone....literally! HA!

We had another great action-packed week. I am going to have to backtrack in mind to remember some of the events. On Tuesday, May 23rd, we had a service in Wibaux, MT. More than likely you have no idea where Wibaux is as it is a little rural community tucked away in the northeast part of Montana. We were graciously welcomed by Pastor Warren and Bev Maxted. Several friends drove in from the surrounding areas to the evening rally. It was a special delight to have Ron Ron & Donna Mitchell with Ron's mother, Beulah Bastaand Donna Mitchell from Glendive, MT, attend. They also brought their 96 year old mother, Beulah Basta, out to see us. She is such a sweetheart. She sat down in the front of the church and beamed through the entire service. At the ripe age of 62 that I am, I wondered if I would have driven an hour to see someone at her age. She really touched our hearts! We have had the privilege to have known her for over 30 years.

Pastor & Mrs. MaxtedPastor Warren and Bev Maxted were thrilled at the altar response in Wibaux. They shared the following with us: "It was such a blessing to have you come to our small community and minister to our people. The presence of the Holy Spirit The altar call at Calvary Temple Assembly of God in Wibaux, MTwas so wonderful as we saw people give their hearts and lives to Jesus for the first time. Others were so encouraged by your music and message. Only eternity will reveal all that was accomplished by your ministry to us. Thank you for coming and may God's strength and blessing be upon you and your ministry in the days ahead."

From Wibaux, we drove up to Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada, to have a service at the Church of God. We hadn't been back in the area for about five years so it was great to minister there once again. A lady in her late 70's who had attended church her entire life made a first time commitment to Christ! What a gem! After the service, I was greeting people in the foyer, and I noticed a couple standing by the doors smiling from ear to ear. I walked over to them and Ivy and her husband, Marvin Duke, bubbled, "You and Larry were here 22 years ago at the Elks Club and ministered. My husband and I both gave our hearts to Christ for the first time at that rally. Our whole lives changed. We have six children so we needed this big step in our lives. It was so fun seeing you once again tonight. We enjoying hearing you sing and minister after all these years."

Yes...when Jesus comes into someone's heart it is truly a life-changing event.

Pastor Garth and Debbie Reesor of the Church of God in Estevan were a delight to work with. They shared with us the following letter which touched our hearts:

"Thank you for your ministry with us on Thursday, May 25th. Your hearts so clearly Rev Garth Reesor of the Church of God in Estevan and Larryreflect God's passion for the Lost. We praised God for the two people who made first time commitments to Christ plus the others who confirmed their faith in Him. Your ministry of song and humor, challenge and encouragement was a great blessing. We are trusting that the message that was spoken will continue to bear fruit in the lives of people as they develop a renewed passion for the Lost. Blessings on you as you continue to travel and win souls for the Kingdom."

We look forward to returning to Estevan in a year and a half, Lord willing, for another great time of ministry.

While in Estevan, we also had a Larry Lundstrom Ministries Canadian board meeting. God has blessed us with a great board who share the burden and mission, along with Larry and I, to reach the Lost. We are very privileged and honored to have Ed Komarnacki, his wife, Sally, Ken Sholter and his wife, Deb, and Ken Raine as a part of this ministry and its outreach into Canada.

We drove back to Minot, ND, for our two Sunday morning services with Pastor The First Assembly of God altar callNathan and Mary Johnson at Minot First Assembly. We had great crowds and God was faithful to draw the Lost to Himself. The ages of those that responded were teens to a lady who was 85 years old who made a first time commitment to Christ. What a great Memorial Day weekend memory!

Pastor Nathan and Mary JohnsonPastor Nathan and Mary had this to say about our ministry in Minot.... "Thank you so much for coming to Minot. Wow! We certainly had a great time. Thank you for being faithful to your call throughout the years. We appreciate your heart for the Lord and your love for souls. It was wonderful to see people of all ages respond to the altar calls you gave while you were here. It is obvious that changed hearts and lives are what drives your ministry. Your love for people is refreshing to see. Thank you for the time and interest you gave to our children as well. You have blessed our family and our entire church family. Keep winning them for Jesus!"

We were anxious to hit the road to go home Sunday afternoon when the transmission light came on in the coach. Larry groaned, "Oh no, now what?" I sank into my chair and moaned, "No, no, no...not when we are only 400 miles from home!" Hesitantly Larry added, "Honey, we can't drive it like this." He called a diesel hotline and they ordered, "Don't drive it until you get it checked over!" Then they added a little P.S., "Oh we hate to tell you this, but all the diesel garages and hotlines are closed for the 3-day Memorial Day weekend." I whimpered, "But I want to go home now." I soon realized we weren't going anywhere so I went through my mind-readjustment time. I finally told Larry, "Well, I guess we were too tired to drive anyway so let's take a rest on Memorial Day."

Amisdt my whimpering and disappointment from not being able to go home, I sat in my chair and began to read the Bible for encouragement. God spoke to my heart, "This is just a delay-not a disaster!" A few minutes later while watching the Minot evening news, they informed the television viewers that they are still looking for a little three year old girl that was kidnapped May 17th. They feel they found the man who took her but he had killed himself. The little girl's whereabouts are still a mystery. Last week, they drained a lake and they are still doing ground searches looking for her. When I heard that news clip, my heart grieved and ached for that mother and family. I can't even imagine the grief and loss they are experiencing. It didn't take me long to realize that a possible transmission problem is no problem at all; it is just an inconvenience. God help me not to get detoured and consumed by the small stuff. Lord, don't let me wallow in my little problem when so many people are drowning in life-threatening and heart-breaking trials. God help us not to become calloused to those around us that are hurting but may we truly reach out to help and encourage them.

I am so thankful that Jesus promises that He IS ...not WAS! Psalms 46:1 & 2 declares, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in need. Therefore, we will not fear..." When I get overwhelmed, these scriptures challenge me to "Be still and know that He is God!" It is my prayer that whatever trial you are facing, you, too, will take time to stop, be still and feel the presence of God knowing that He will see you through. He is faithful!

God bless you! We hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day and I will talk to you next week.

Gloria

P.S. God answered our prayer...praise the Lord! The transmission finally went off and is staying off so we were able to head for home!

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

I cried because I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet.

CHUCKLE OF THE WEEK

In Sunday School one morning, little Joey raised his hand and proceeded to ask a question that had perplexed him for some time;

"Mr. Goldbladt," said little Joey, "There is something I can't figure out. According to the Bible, the children of Israel crossed the Red Sea, right?"

"Right."

"And the children of Israel beat up the Philistines, right?"

"Errr...right."

"And the children of Israel built the temple, right?"

"Again, you're right."

"And the children of Israel fought the Egyptians and the children of Israel were always doing something important, right?"

"All that is right, too," agreed Mr. Goldbladt. "So, what's your question, Joey?"

"WHAT WERE ALL THE GROWN-UPS DOING?"

May 24, 2006

Greetings from North Dakota! We are inching our way back to South Dakota. A week ago, we were in Billings, Montana, for a rally. It was great to be back in Montana again. I had spoken at several Montana State Women's Retreats Pastor & Mrs. Robert Fox and Pastor & Mrs. Johan Rockstadthrough the years so it was fun coming back and seeing many friends that we have made through the years. We had a joint service with Pastor Fox and Pastor Rockstad of Billings. While conversing with Pastor Fox the day after the rally, he commented, "I really enjoyed your service and time of encouragement and ministry." He continued, "I believe young couples and teenagers respond to your altar calls because of the love and respect you show to each other while you minister. They feel and see stability and know how this is needed in this world of broken homes and relationships." That was a sweet observation and it is our prayer to help strengthen families and relationships wherever we go.

From Billings, we drove to Glendive, Montana, for a Friday night rally. As we drove through the streets of the small rural community, I was flooded with a mountain of memories. We used to minister in Glendive a lot in the 70's when our children were toddlers and we traveled as a part of the Lowell Lundstrom Crusade Team. Our children used to toddle out on the stage and sing with us...and now they have all toddled away and are doing their own thing. HA!

We had a great service with Pastor Edroy Curtis. It was a small crowd as it was graduation weekend but we had spiritually big results. There was a precious family of four that came out: Jared, Brandy and their two children. Jared had just came to Christ a few weeks earlier and his face showed it! He literally glowed with the joy of the Lord. I love seeing that first love written all over the Jared Mitchel Familyfaces of new converts. Larry preached on the importance of reaching the Lost. When he gave the altar call, Jared's daughter stepped forward along with her mother to recommit their lives to Christ. It was precious! Jared exclaimed, "Wow! I loved your music and service. You all were so much fun! God has been speaking to my heart about witnessing and your message confirmed it. Now I have to be obedient to hit the road and reach out to others with the Good News about Christ. Thanks...I needed that push!"

Pastor Edroy Curtis of Glendive Assembly of GodLarry and I have been blessed to meet the sweetest group of pastors on this tour, and Pastor Curtis was no exception. He was so pleased we came to minister, and we were happy to be there. Here is a note he shared with us, "Thank you, Larry and Gloria, for coming to Glendive and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ in a simple, yet profound way! Sinners were saved, backsliders recommitted, and saints were urged to become aware of the plight of the Lost. You challenged us to do something about it! The music was great, the presentation was humorous and light at times, yet 'serious as a heart attack' at other times. Please drop by again to minister."

On Saturday, we drove into Williston, ND. A bit road-weary, we pulled into Applebee's to eat a quick lunch. I reached over, took Larry's hand and said, "This has been a great tour...the services have been great, the pastors and their wives were wonderful, the hundreds of decisions made for Christ were phenomenal, but I am sooooooooooo tired!" At that precise moment, a lady approached our table and said, "Gloria....Larry Lundstrom?" We responded, "Yes..." She bubbled, "I'm Sandy Turner from Sidney, Montana, and you two had a big part in turning my life around. On September 5th, 2001, you came to Stan and Sandy Turner....a testimony that blessed our hearts!Sidney. For weeks my friend kept inviting me to church and I kept turning her down. I guess as a last ditch attempt, she gave me one more invitation to your service. I just couldn't turn her down again so I consented to go. I brought my two daughters with me and we loved all of it. When you gave the invitation for the altar call, I stepped forward to receive Christ for the very first time. Soon after that, my daughters gave their hearts to Christ. Even when I was unsaved, I always thought I was a believer of something, but that night I became a follower of Jesus Christ. My entire life turned around as well as my marriage and family. We are now all active in the Sidney Assembly of God church and our daughters are involved in Campus Missions Ministry. I am ever so grateful you came to Sidney to share Christ."

After hearing this, I teared up, took her hand and said, "Thank you, thank you, thank you! You have made my day! Your testimony gave me another blood transfusion to keep pushing on." Wow..that was better than Geritol! I was now energized and ready to set up equipment at the Williston Assembly of God for the upcoming Sunday service.

On Sunday morning when my alarm went off, my heart was willing but my flesh was weak. I felt like I was in a shutdown mode. I pleaded with Larry, "Please make me a cup of coffee to help get me going," and he did. He thought for a while he would need a tow rope to help drag me in but God in His faithfulness got me in motion mode again.

The Williston Assembly of God church was nearly full and energized. We have been coming back to this church since the mid-60's...ouch! Okay, I know that is last century. Don't rub it in! I was instantly refreshed seeing so many friends as well as meeting new ones. There was such a enlivening spirit and again, we were blessed to meet and work with another great pastor. Pastor Kyle Anderson has a soulwinner's heart; therefore, we bondThe altar call at Williston Assembly of Goded immediately.

The service was precious. Again, we simply lifted up Jesus and He drew many unto Himself. The testimonies that were shared with us after the altar call was done were thrilling.

Pastor Kyle Anderson had this to say about the service:

Larry with Pastor Kyle Anderson...two men with hearts for the Lost"Once again, we were truly blessed by your ministry, and it was good to see you both again. As always, you come with a wonderful spirit and in a supportive role of the local church. I especially appreciate your emphasis upon winning the lost - a true evangelist's heart. We are pleased to report three first-time conversions and 9 rededications.

I also feel a great benefit to any church is simply the communication of a passion for lost souls, which should be the hallmark of any church. Our people need to be reminded of the importance of that passion. Thanks for doing so!

We look forward to scheduling you again when you are in the area."

Well, another busy week is in progress so I must get moving again. We are in Montana tonight, and will then go to Estevan, Canada, for a rally on Thursday. The following day, we drive to Minot, ND, for Sunday services. Please remember us in prayer as we near the end of this tour. We have been away from home since January 5th. Please pray God's protection, health and strength as we journey towards South Dakota.

Gloria

Greetings from Montana! There hasn't been much grass growing under our feet this week. We have been on the go.

We had a great service a week ago Wednesday night at Montesano, WA. Montesano is just a few miles from the Washington Coast. When Larry gave the altar call, a couple whose marriage was on the rocks came forward and rededicated their lives to Christ. What a thrill it was to see true peace and forgiveness written all over their faces. It was worth the long run down the Coast even if only for that one couple. God is good!

Greetings from Montana! There hasn't been much grass growing under our feet this week. We have been on the go.

We had a great service a week ago Wednesday night at Montesano, WA. Just some of the beautiful country we see in our travels!Montesano is just a few miles from the Washington Coast. When Larry gave the altar call, a couple whose marriage was on the rocks came forward and rededicated their lives to Christ. What a thrill it was to see true peace and forgiveness written all over their faces. It was worth the long run down the Coast even if only for that one couple. God is good!

Last Thursday and Friday, we drove from the Washington Coast, through the Seattle area, through the state of Idaho, into Montana and finally arrived at Hamilton, MT, our destination for the week. It was refreshing getting back into our motorcoach after a long three and half week tour living out of our suburban which required packing everything in and out almost every day. Regardless, it was a wonderful tour. Hundreds responded to Christ and that is the name of the game!

Pastor Steve & Ann Trimble of Hamilton Assembly of GodMother's Day was special. I had the privilege of ministering at the Hamilton Assembly of God in Hamiton, MT, with Pastor Steve and Ann Trimble. There was good attendance and the sanctuary was abundant with Gloria speaking during the Mother's Day service.moms. After I shared, I invited all of the mothers to come around the altar and then form a circle which stretched around the entire sanctuary. What a moving sight! Once that was completed, I asked the children to stand with their mothers. I proceeded to pray a prayer of blessing over the mothers and the children. It was pretty emotional! There were a lot of hugs and tears throughout the sanctuary!

Gloria and Justin GossAfter the service, Justin Goss approached me and said, "Wow! What a Mother's Day service! I've been to a lot of Mother's Day services through the years, but none like this. You were so transparent! You shared your joys, fun, and laughter of motherhood, and then you opened your heart pouring out your personal struggles, disappointments and pains of parenting. You gave us victory reports and good advice! You had us laughing and crying. You ministered right where the rubber meets the road. Thank you for being so honest and open to help encourage the mothers...fathers....and me!"

I sure missed not being able to be with our three children on Mother's Day. They all called to wish me Happy Mother's Day and sent cards and flowers. My kids blessed me with card and flowers...I sure miss them!Donovan called from Portland, OR. LaShawn called from Lexington, KY. LaDawn and the grandkids called from Minneapolis, MN. I was just aching for a physical hug from each one. A couple of weeks ago when LaDawn called, she said, "Mom, it's time for you to get back home! You've been gone for five months on this tour and that is way too long to be gone from your kids and grandkids....now get home! HA!" She continued on, "Mom, we miss you so much!" I assured her that we are starting our turn towards home and should be back to South Dakota by May 29th.

On Monday, we packed our coach with all of the equipment, clothes, and office materials that were in our suburban and traveled toward Bozeman, MT. It took us a long time to get through the two mountain passes as they are steep, but also Montana is currently experiencing a record-breaking wave of temps in the 90's and above. It is hard to keep the bus engine cool while climbing these mountains.

Boy, isn't that like life?! We are forever climbing up a mountain or going through a valley experience. Sometimes the current of life's situations can sweep us off our feet if we don't hang on spiritually. I am reminded of the story of a medical missionary who forded many swift and bridgeless streams in Africa. He learned from the natives the best way to make a hazardous crossing.

The danger in crossing a stream lies in being swept off of one's feet and carried downstream to deeper waters or being hurled to death against hidden rocks. A way to avoid this is for a man about to cross a stream to find a large stone, the heavier the better, to lift it to his shoulder, and carry it across the stream as an extra weight. The extra weight of the stone keeps his feet solid on the bed of the stream.

In telling this technique, Dr. Lambie drew an application to life; "While crossing the dangerous stream of life...we need the ballast of burden bearing to keep us from being swept off of our feet." The moral of this true story is: we need to hold on tight to the Rock, Jesus Christ, to help carry us through the deep waters. Isaiah 43:2 says, "When thou passes through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee..."

It is my prayer that you will have a wonderful week and that you will hold tight to God and His Word to give you strength to face life's challenges.

God Bless You!

Gloria

A wife was berating her husband at the company picnic, "Doesn't it embarrass you when people see you go up to the buffet table for the fifth time?"

We are on the road again en route to the great state of Montana. We have just completed a three week ministry tour through the state of Washington and Oregon. The time went by so quickly. We arrived in Oregon just as the cherry blossoms were coming out and now allergy season is in full swing. Larry woke up one morning sneezing with little pockets under his eyes. They looked like itty-bitty suitcases packed full of pollen. Poor guy!

Last weekend, we ministered in Port Orchard, WA, which is located about 50 Pastor Ray and Sandy Jennings of Christian Life Center in Port Orchard, WAmiles west of Seattle. We were privileged to minister at Christian Life Center with Pastor Ray and Sandy Jennings. What a powerful ministry couple they are! They exhibit gentle spirits along with a zest and passion for the Lost. Pastor Ray informed us he and his wife were in one of our services in Springfield, MO, way back in 1967 when we were traveling with Larry's brother, Lowell, and his wife, Connie. We were known as the Lundstrom Team at that time. It was fun to reconnect and reminisce about the old days! HA!

Last Sunday, we ministeOne of the wonderful altar calls we had at Christian Life Centerred in two morning services and an evening service. The presence of God was so precious and dozens flowed up to the altar to make commitments for Christ. The pastor was thrilled to see families, couples, singles and teens that they had been praying for respond to the invitation for salvation. What a joy it was to see what God did in their lives!

After the morning services, while we were visiting with Pastor Ray and Sandy, Pastor Ray exclaimed, "Larry and Gloria, I don't care what style of ministry you have; when I see 17 first time decisions made for Christ and dozens of rededications like we had this morning, that's what really counts!"

Arvin & Verlah Smith....It was great to have friends from the past years attend our rallies.Once again, we were blessed to have many friends attend our services at Christian Life Center who have been at our rallies somewhere someplace through the years. It was thrilling to see friends and relatives attend that we haven't seen for years. From the platform I made the comment, "You just came to see if we are still really alive!" HA! It reminded me of the couple who approached Larry and I awhile back. They marched right up to us, stared us right in the face and announced, "Boy, you two are getting to be old dogs." We gulped. I thought to myself, "They surely hadn't read the book entitled, How to Win Friends and Influence People." Larry spoke up, "We may be old dogs, but we can still hunt!" Praise God we are still on the trail of lost souls after these 40 plus years on the road. Gloria with her cousin, Barb Mellegard

While in the Washington area, I was also able to reconnect with her cousin, Barb Mellegard, who she hadn't seen for over 20 years!  It was fun to take some time to catch up!

Gloria's brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Terry BrooksWe then drove through Kemp, WA, on our way to Port Orchard, and we were thrilled to see my brother, Larry, and his precious wife, Terry. They are such a joy to be around. On our open day, they took us by ferry from the Seattle Central Waterfront on an hour ride to Tillicum Village located on Blake Island. Thousands of visitors, including us, enjoyed the warmth of Tillicum's Native Village Long House styled in the fashion of the ancient dwellings of the Northwest Coast Native Americans. We experienced eating fresh clams in the shell out of Larry and Gloria eating some fresh clams!a boiling pot and a delicious Indian-style salmon bake with all of the trimmings. Yummy! The salmon was fresh, originating from that area. You sure can't beat that! Following the buffet was a stage show interpreting the culture of the Northwest Coast Native Americans. It was very interesting, especially since we come from the Sisseton-Wahpeton Sioux Indian Reservation in South Dakota. We have a special love and appreciation for Native Americans. As a teenager, which was way, way, way back (HA!), I helped with ministry in our hometown Dakotah Mission. It was a great experience!

This Sunday is a special day...Mother's Day! I will be speaking at the Mother's Day service in Hamilton, MT, straight south of Missoula, MT. What a special opportunity for those of us who still have our mothers with us to be able to My mother, Julie Brookshonor them. I have been blessed to have had my mother for 62 years. What a gift! She has made the single greatest impact on my life, next to Christ and my husband. She has taught us how to pray in times of need, how to trust God when all else fails, how to laugh when life gives us lemons, how to love the unlovable and how to live by God's Word, the atlas and survival kit of our lives. Mom has modeled strength and perseverance when the storms of life were raging. I could continue on and on. I am so honored, not only on Mother's Day, but every day of the year, to appreciate and cherish her. She is a dear friend, and I thank God for her.

Please take the time to call, visit, send a card or flowers to your mother. Let her know how much you love and appreciate her. "Her children rise up and call her blessed." (Proverbs 31:28) She needs that!

Well, I must run and hit the road again! God bless you and have a wonderful Mother's Day!

Gloria

P.S.  If you would like to receive a FREE speaking tape from Gloria, entitled, "Don't Laugh Now...You're Just Like Your Mother", please e-mail us at llmin@venturecomm.net to request the tape and provide your address so we can send it to you.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

It is better to build strong children than try to repair an adult.

TIDBIT OF THE WEEK

Mother

She rises early every day
And gets the children on their way.
She works twelve hours without pay
And says she's just a mother.

She buys the food and decks the plate
And keeps the family budget straight.
She does the work that others hate
Because she is a mother.

Her voice can calm the troubled mind,
Her touch is gentle, soft and kind,
To faults and failures she is blind,
Because she is a mother.

Her face with radiance is aglow
When son or daughter makes a show,
A feeling only she can know
Because she is a mother.

She hears the things you do not say,
She feels your hurts and stops to pray.
A master at psychology,
You see, she is a mother.

Today's their day across the land.
God bless our mothers, they are grand.
The Son of God can understand
Because He had a mother.

Greetings from Seattle, Washington! We are on the move!

Last week, we were in the Portland area. While there, we had the privilege of staying at Frank and LaVonne Wallace's (Larry's cousins) home in Washougal. On Friday, they had a family gathering where we were able to renew acquaintances with several relatives we haven't seen for nearly 20 years. There was a lot of laughter and humor in the room. Now I know where Larry's sense of humor came from! HA! There is nothing more pleasurable than being around happy people!

Greetings from Seattle, Washington! We are on the move!

Last week, we were in the Portland area. While there, we had the privilege of Larry at his family gathering...a fun bunch!staying at Frank and LaVonne Wallace's (Larry's cousins) home in Washougal. On Friday, they had a family gathering where we were able to renew acquaintances with several relatives we haven't seen for nearly 20 years. There was a lot of laughter and humor in the room. Now I know where Larry's sense of humor came from! HA! There is nothing more pleasurable than being around happy people!

The Tuesday night before, we were invited to a home Bible study to share our vision and heartbeat for God and ministry. Of course, Larry loves sharing his Gloria and Mrs. Nultemeier....truly an inspiration!soulwinning tools with those who want to win their loved ones to Christ.

Another real treat this past week was seeing Mrs. D L Nultemeier, who was the wife of my pastor when I was in high school. She is now 81 years old, full of life and continues to be very active in teaching and speaking. Mrs Nultemeier left a great impact on my life for ministry.

On Sunday, we ministered at Mountain View Christian Center in Ridgefield, WA. It is a beautiful church that was started many years ago by the Swedes, Germans and Norwegians that migrated out West from the Dakotas. We found the history of the church very interesting. The first few years, all of the services were conducted in Swedish. I assured the congregation that we would all get along just great because I was Norwegian and Larry was half Swede and half cocker spaniel! HA! They just chuckled!

Michelle and Mark Geer, Pastors of Mountain View Christian CenterWe had a wonderful Sunday morning service with Pastor Mark and Michelle Geer. What a young dynamic couple! Their love for God and ministry just oozes out of them! When Larry gave the invitation to receive Christ, many rededicated their lives to Altar call at Mountain View Christian Center in Ridgefield, WAChrist. There were also three people that made first time commitments to the Lord. God is always faithful! The Bible says if we lift Him up, He will draw all men unto Himself. I like what one pastor said lately, "Not only does He draw...sometimes He will drag!" That's true! When we are faithful to lift Christ up, the Holy Spirit drags them in. That's what I call fishing for souls.

Another highlight of last week was a quick side trip to Cape Disappointment Larry's cousins, Frank & LaVonne WallaceState Park on Oregon's coast. Larry and I, along with his cousins, Frank and LaVonne, ventured over to the North Head Lighthouse, which is often called, A Light On the Pacific. It stand 190 feet above sea level. We found its story very interesting.. Many ships and vessels (over 2,000 in fact) and thousands of lives have perished due to the high waves and shifting sand bars in this area now known as the Graveyard of the Pacific. The Cape Disappointment Lighthouse was constructed, but shipwrecks continued because ships traveling from the north couldn't see Cape Disappointment's light. To remedy this problem, the North Head Lighthouse was built two miles north going into operation on May 16, 1898. Wow! What a story!

I see quite a parallel between those lighthouses and our lives...just as those 2,000 ships wrecked and thousands of lives perished because they could not see the light of the Cape Disappointment Lighthouse, today we have thousands of people lost without Christ whose lives are shipwrecked on the rocks because we have failed to let our light shine to a lost and dying world. We are tempted to lives our lives being selfish and keeping to ourselves. Just think of how many more people would come to Christ if we would do as the little songs says, "This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine." In Matthew 5:16, Jesus commands us, "To let your light shine before men." When we come to Christ, we are commissioned to "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel". That lighthouse challenged me, once again, to let my light shine in a dark world so we might reach the lost!

Well, it is time to go. I pray that you have a wonderful week and please remember us in your prayers!

CHUCKLE OF THE WEEK

A pastor, known for his lengthy sermons, noticed a man get up and leave during the middle of his message. The man returned just before the conclusion of the service. Afterward, the pastor asked the man where he had gone. "I went to get a haircut," was the reply.

"But," said the pastor, "Why didn't you do that before the service?"

"Because," the gentleman said, "I didn't need one then."

Ahhhhh....spring time in Oregon and Washington is delightful! There are blossoms everywhere I look. The fruit trees are showing off their blossoms and are so fragrant. I recall the first time I was in Oregon- it was April in the late '60's-oh, that makes me feel old!

April 26, 2006

Ahhhhh....spring time in Oregon and Washington is delightful! There are blossomsThe beautiful blooms....ahhh, the fragrant smell! everywhere I look. The fruit trees are showing off their blossoms and are so fragrant. I recall the first time I was in Oregon- it was April in the late '60's-oh, that makes me feel old! Our daugthers, LaShawn and LaDawn, were four and one years old. I dressed them in matching light blue dresses with white puffy lace sleeves that our dear friend, Lois, had sewed for them. That was 34 years ago! Well, I can at least compliment myself on remembering that much from that far back! HA!

Last week, we packed as much equipment and as little personal items into our suburban for this 3 ½ week tour. With diesel prices out of sight and the prospect of traveling through the mountains, we decided to park the coach at Don Motley's, our friends from Hamilton, MT. While Larry was packing, he was huffing and puffing as he loaded four speakers, the soundboard, the amplifier, equipment stands, cord cases, ministry stock, computers, briefcases and finally our personal suitcase and clothing. I said, "It appears everything will just fit... except me! I guess you will have to tie me on the front and use me as a hood ornament and bug catcher." Larry just chuckled at my humor. He kept rearranging and somehow managed to fit me in. That was encouraging!

The ride through Montana into Idaho and Oregon was exhilarating! We drove along the beautiful Columbia River. There were Kodak moments all along the way. People were fishing, boating, sailing, and kayaking. Oh how I wished we had the time to stop and take it all in!

Driving along the river, I commented to Larry how beautiful it was. Larry piped up, "I almost drowned in that river." I gasped, "What???" He repeated, "Yeah, I was about 7 years old. My parents, my brother, Lowell, and I drove out to Portland, OR, to see my aunt Myrtle. We all went out to spend some time at the beach along the river. The rambunctious lad I was, I galloped off to play in the river. I was wading out...and boom...the ground disappeared below me. I fell into a huge black hole. I went down, down, and down not knowing if I could get to the surface again. I really thought I was going to drown. I made a big last ditch effort to survive. I was holding my breath, and I began to claw and climb as fast as I could. I finally surfaced and gulped for air. I have never forgotten that day!" My heart pounded just hearing him relive that scary event. I reached my hand across the car, tenderly touched his cheek and said, "Thank God He spared your life. I am so thankful you came to Christ so you could spend your future reaching the Lost!" He smiled, "Yes...boy am I ever thankful He spared my life so you and I could meet, marry and spend our lives doing the heartbeat of God....bringing people to Christ."

So often in our daily lives, we forget to thank God for the things that didn't happen that we will never know about. I love the scripture in Isaiah 43, "But now saith the Lord that created thee, oh Jacob, and He that formed thee O Israel, fear not; for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou are mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee..." This scripture really came alive to me after Larry shared with me his experience. Isn't God good?

Pastor Gary and Joyce Fournier of Calvary Temple in Salem, ORLast Sunday, we ministered at Calvary Temple in Salem, OR, with Pastor Gary & Joyce Fournier. They were thrilled at the altar response. They told us, "Thank you for being you- transparent and obedient to the Lord. Larry, you made the altar call so clear and slick!" HA...that tickled me! They continued, " I loved the way you held their feet over the fires over hell but you didn't condemn them and they responded. We don't see altar response like this very often. It was good!"

                                     Altar call at Calvary Temple

It was also a special joy to meet Kevin Reich, Calvary's associate pastor and Pastor Kevin Reich with his familyyouth leader. He shared with us that he rededicated his life to Christ in the 70's in Missoula, MT, at a Lundstrom Crusade. Now he is in ministry doing a great job along with his wife Rhonda who is the Christian Education Pastor. Pastor Gary and Joyce Fournier are Kevin's father and mother-in-law. The altar Gloria gave as she spoke on forgiveness.

Sunday night, I ministered on forgiveness. Many made decisions to make amends for offenses of the past. We saw couples and families restored through forgiveness that night.

We are in the midst of another busy week and I am sure you are too. Thanks, again, for joining Larry and I for the "On the Road" update. I love connecting with you! Talk to you next week!

Gloria

P.S.  Before we left Hamilton, MT, we spent an evening with friends, who had gone on fellowship tours with us in the past. We had a great time of fellowship and sharing at Don and Nancy Motley's home

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

"He who cannot forgive breaks the bridge over which he himself must pass."

STORY OF THE WEEK

Billy Graham was returning home after a speaking engagement. When his plane arrived at the airport, there was a long black limousine to transport him.

Just as he was about to get in the back of the limo, he stopped. He whispered to the driver who was holding the door open for him. "You know" he said, "I am 87 years old and I have never driven a limousine. Would you mind if I drove it for a while?"

The driver said, "No problem. Have at it."

Billy got into the driver's seat and they headed out to the interstate

Lurking behind an exit ramp a short distance from the airport,
sat a rookie State Trooper operating his first speed trap.

The long black limo went by him doing 70 in a 55 mph zone. The trooper pulled out in pursuit and easily caught the limo. He pulled up behind, and got out of his North Carolina State patrol car.The young trooper walked up to the driver's door. When the glass was rolled down he was very surprised to see who was driving. Trying desperately to maintain his professional attitude, he immediately excused himself and walked back to his car and called his supervisor.

He told the supervisor, "I know we are supposed to enforce the law but I also know that important people are given certain courtesies. I need to know what I should do because I have stopped a very important person."

The supervisor asked, "Is it the governor?"

The young trooper said, "No, he's more important than that."

The supervisor said, "Oh, so it's the president."

The young trooper said, "No, he's even more important than that."

The supervisor finally asked, "Well then, who is it?"

The young trooper said, "It must be Jesus; he's got Billy Graham for a chauffeur!"

*Thanks to Karalyn Apple for sending this on to us. We enjoyed it!

Let's see...where am I today? We have crossed so many miles, been to so many places, and have accomplished so many things in the past week, I have to stop to catch my breath and actually think. For this blonde, that's a real chore! HA!

The drive from Phoenix, Arizona, to Missoula, Montana, was beautiful.

April 19, 2006

Let's see...where am I today? We have crossed so many miles, been to so many places, and have accomplished so many things in the past week, I have to stop to catch my breath and actually think. For this blonde, that's a real chore! HA!

The drive from Phoenix, Arizona, to Missoula, Montana, was beautiful. The temperature change, however, was traumatic. It was 90 plus degrees when we left Phoenix. This morning in Montana, we are watching light snow fall from the heavens with temperatures just hovering over 30 degrees. The fresh snow in the mountains and the frost on the beautiful towering pines is breathtaking. Since we have been in the desert and tropics for the past 3 ½ months, I have had to scramble and dig to find something warm to wear.

Last Friday, we drove into Stevensville, Montana, which is 20 miles south of The high gas prices....OUCH!Missoula. Because of the Easter weekend, the traffic was bumper to bumper for miles. We were thankful to finally nest the coach in the pines behind the Light of the Valley Church. We had a hard time keeping the fuel tank full during the 1300 mile drive, especially with the price of fuel. Larry pointed out the price of diesel which was $2.89 a gallon. We both groaned....enough of that subject!

Early on Easter morning, we looked out our coach window, and we saw the young adults from the church hiding Easter eggs among the trees and grass on the church groundsGloria and the Easter dog! for the Easter egg hunt to be held after church. I chuckled, "Wouldn't it be fun if we went out with our own big basket and picked all the eggs before the hunt since we know where they were all placed?!" Larry just grinned at me, and then I was convicted and said, "That sure would be mean, but wouldn't it be fun!!" As you can see by the photo, the church didn't have an Easter bunny, it was an Easter dog.

We had an awesome Easter. The Light of the Valley Church put on an Easter program preceding our part of the Easter service. It was a joy to just sit back, take it all in, and be blessed by all the children and adults that participated in the Easter production. The children were all dressed up in their new Easter outfits and bonnets. How cute!

We praise God for the response to Christ! After Larry's message entitled, "So What's the Big Deal About Easter?" he gave the invitation to those who wanted to receive Christ for the first time or wanted to rededicate their lives to the Savior. Dozens flowed to the altar to pray a prayer of salvation. It was precious to see entire families go up to the altar together. After the service, I walked into the counseling area and what a glorious sight-there were many tearful and cheerful reunions! Among those that responded were several teenagers making first time commitments to Christ. That is what Easter is all about; people coming to know Christ as their personal Savior! What a privilege to have a small part in bringing them to Christ.

Pastor Art Huwe and Larry...great friends over the years!Pastor and Mrs. Art Huwe of Light of the Valley Church took us out for Easter dinner. They were so kind to let us be a part of their family gathering. We have known Pastor Art and Gloria for many years, and it is always a pleasure to come back and minister with them. They are so gracious.

When I saw all these families together at Easter, it made this mother's heart very lonesome for our children. It almost made me whimper a bit. Thank God for cell phones. We called Nashville, TN, where our daughter, LaShawn, her special friend, Liam, and our son, Donovan had Easter dinner together. Donovan was only in town for a couple of hours so I was thrilled they could get together. We called LaDawn and the grandkids in Minneapolis, MN. They were invited over to Larry's brother, Lowell, and his wife, Connie, Lundstrom's for Easter dinner. They were happy to be with all of their cousins. I was so grateful that they all had family to be with. Many holidays the distance is just too far to physically get together so we are together in our hearts and via the cell phone.

This is another busy week as we are getting ready to leave on the next leg of our tour to Oregon and the state of Washington. We are leaving the coach behind due to fuel costs. We are trying to figure out how to squeeze everything we need to take along in our suburban. This will be a challenge to say the least! I think I may have to be strapped on to the hood so we can make room for the equipment. HA!

Larry and I have spent our entire life doing what God has called us to do...evangelize the Lost! We love it, but at times the logistics of packing, unpacking, doing office work on the road, ministering in services, and everything else we do gets overwhelming. Today, for instance, I had to speak to myself and say, "Gloria, calm down. It will all come together." My mom would always say, "Missy, it will always come together-because it has to!" Yeah! Thanks, Mom-I'm the one who has to make it come together! HA! I was fussing around here trying to figure out some details and how to get it all done when I finally had to just stop and pray, "God, you promised in your Word, in James 1:5, that if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraidth not; and it shall be given him." When it says him that means ME! When I at last throw my hands in the air and say , "Here, Lord, I need your wisdom," He gives it. I now have the plan for the day so I had better get in gear and get it done.

Well, friend, we will talk to you next week from the beautiful state of Oregon. God bless!

Gloria

CHUCKLE OF THE WEEK

The minister gave his Sunday morning sermon, as usual; but this particular Sunday, it was considerably longer than normal.

Later, at the door, shaking hands with the parishioners as they moved out, one man said, "Your sermon, Pastor, was simply wonderful-so invigorating and inspiring and refreshing."

The minister, of course, broke out in a big smile, only to hear the man add, "Why, I felt like a new man when I woke up!"

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

You should never let problems get you down....except...on your knees.

James 5:3 (NIV) "Is anyone of you in trouble? He should pray."

Greetings from Salt Lake City, Utah! Arizona is now a vapor! We drove out of Peoria, AZ, last Sunday afternoon after our Sunday service. I asked Larry to stop and take a photo of our last Arizona sunset among the cacti. When I saw his photo, I said, "Wow! That could make a postcard!"

April 12, 2006We are heading out of the desert and into the mountains!

                                     As beautiful as a postcard,,,

Last week, we were busy getting ready for the 1300 mile trek to Stevensville, MT. On Saturday, we drove to Peoria, a suburb of Phoenix. It was actually one of the hottest days we have had since we have been in Arizona. It was close to 90 degrees. It is supposed to be 96 degrees there this week so I think we hit the trail at just the right time.

Pastor Ron and Sue Rockwell of Harvestime ChurchOn Sunday, we had the privilege of ministering at Harvestime Church in Peoria, AZ, with Pastor Ron and Sue Rockwell. Pastor Ron and Sue were the youth ministers in our home church in Sisseton, SD, about 20 years ago. They left a great impact on the lives of the youth they ministered to. Pastor Ron and Sue started a new church in Peoria about five years ago. It is growing quickly and is filled with loving people of all ages. Oftentimes, a church assumes the personality of the pastor. It is really true in this case. Larry and I know why people are flocking in; it is because there is so much love there which is a direct reflection of Pastor Ron and Sue.

When Larry gave the invitation, the altars were filled with many making The altar call in Peoria, AZ!recommitments of their lives to Christ. It was thrilling to see a large group of teenagers come forward to pound another nail into their commitment to Christ.

Once again, we were excited to see several guests attend who had earlier come to Christ under the Lundstrom Ministry. It always brings us joy to see them faithfully serving God all these many years!

On Monday, we drove through Nevada, and on Tuesday, we touched three states: Nevada, the corner of Arizona and crossed into Utah. The scenery was breathtaking! We saw desert, rugged mountains, canyons, fields laden with cattle, and snow-capped peaks. God certainly created everything beautiful for us to enjoy.

Today we are in Salt Lake City, UT. On Good Friday, we will drive into Stevensville, MT, which is just outside the beautiful Missoula, MT, area. I can hardly believe it is almost Easter. Every time I think of Good Friday, my mind goes back to when our son, Donovan, who was about five years old. He colored me a picture of Jesus on the cross and proudly handed it to me. I complimented him and commented on how beautiful the picture was. I taped it on the window of our bus so the sun could shine through the picture. I then looked at my son, and I could see he was in deep thought. Finally, he spoke up, "Mom, why do they call it a good Friday when they nailed Jesus on the cross? I don't think that's so good!" Wow! I was slightly taken aback. I took the time to explain that Jesus loved us so much that He wanted us to go to heaven with Him. I continued to state that the only way we could go was if Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Donovan's eyes brightened, he grinned and said, "Oh now I know why it was a good Friday."

I love the openness and curiosity of a child. They teach us so much!

The last few days, Larry and I have been reading a booklet titled, "Passion with a Purpose...40 Days With God." It is a 40 day devotional that takes us up to Easter. It is so good! Please allow me to share one short devotion with you to meditate on:

One Incredible Plan

Scripture: Phillipians 2:8 "He humbled Himself and was fully obedient to God even when that caused His death-death on a cross."

When human hands fastened the divine hands to a cross with spikes, it wasn't the soldiers who held the hands of Jesus steady. It was God who held them steady. Those same hands that formed the oceans and built the mountains. Those same hands that designed the dawn and crafted each cloud. Those same hands that blueprinted one incredible plan for you and me.

Take a stroll out to the hill. Out to calvary. Out to the cross where, with holy blood, the hand that placed you on the planet wrote the promise, "God would give up His only son before He would give up on you."

-Max Lucado

When I read that, I was tear-laden as I thought of how grateful I am that God didn't give up on me and my family in April of 1952. He saw us as not unworthy but worthy of His sacrifice and gave it all to us freely. Now, for over 40 years, Larry and I have had the privilege of sharing that free gift with multiplied thousands. Yes...because He lives, we have the hope of eternal life.

We pray that you have a blessed Easter as you celebrate the resurrected Lord!

Gloria

P.S. If you would like to receive a speaking tape that shares on serving God no matter what happens, please e-mail us at llmin@venturecomm.net, and we would be happy to send it to you as a free Easter gift.

ONE GUY DIDN'T

Three guys were tried for crimes against humanity.
Two guys committed crimes.
One guy didn't.

Three guys were given government trials.
Two guys had fair trials.
One guy didn't.

Three guys were whipped and beaten.
Two guys had it coming.
One guy didn't.

Three guys were given crosses to carry.
Two guys earned their crosses.
One guy didn't.

Three guys were mocked and spit at along the way.
Two guys cursed and spit back.
One guy didn't.

Three guys were nailed to crosses.
Two guys deserved it.
One guy didn't.

Three guys agonized over their abandonment.
Two guys had reason to be abandoned.
One guy didn't.

Three guys talked while hanging on their crosses.
Two guys argued.
One guy didn't.

Three guys knew death was coming.
Two guys resisted.

The sun is setting in beautiful Arizona. We only have three more sunsets here and we will be off and running once again. We plan to leave Peoria, AZ, after church on Sunday afternoon and drive as far as Las Vegas and then on to Missoula, MT.

 April 5, 2006

The sun is setting in beautiful Arizona. We only have three more sunsets here and we will be off and running once again. We plan to leave Peoria, AZ, after church on Sunday afternoon and drive as far as Las Vegas and then on to Missoula, MT. Hold on....lest you think we are going to Las Vegas to gamble...no, no, no! But did you hear about the man who drove his new black BMW to Las Vegas and road home in a Greyhound bus?! Get it? I'm sure there are more of these stories that are true than we will ever know. So many people lose it all gambling. Okay, so much for that subject.

Let's get back to something that really matters....souls coming to Christ. We had the pleasure of returning to Evangel Church in Sun City, AZ, last Sunday. This was our 4th time back. About 70 percent of the congregation were snowbirds or former midwest friends that we met and ministered to through Rev & Mrs. Don Waggoner with their daughter, Helen, and husband, Roger Sorbothe years sometime, somewhere. It was a special treat to see Rev. and Mrs. Don Waggoner and their daughter, Helen, and husband, Roger Sorbo. Rev. And Mrs. Waggoner pastored our hometown church in Sisseton, SD, way, way, way back. They were pastoring the first time our family attended a full gospel church. It was my first opportunity to see a pastor's wife and family. Helen, her sister, Carol, and little brother, Ron, were sitting in the front row chairs and I was all eyes and ears. There was this handsome pastor and his beautiful wife who got up and played piano, trombone and sang. They were electric! The children were beautiful and so well behaved. I was mesmerized by all of it and they made a great impact on my life. That was about 1949 or 1950...oops...now I'm really making myself ancient. I think I was about 6 years old at the time. What a thrill to see them and to see Brother Don still playing his trombone in the Sr. Church Orchestra. It's been great to be able to keep in touch with them all these years.

Rev. Bob and Lorena McFarland, pastors of Evangel Church, are an energetic, Pastor Bob and Lorena McFarland of Evangel Church in Sun City, AZdynamic couple who are doing a great job pastoring the church. The people love them. Boy, are they talented and can sing! We had a delightful time ministering there last Sunday morning. Larry preached a sermon entitled, "If you don't know you....you don't go!" He presented the simple salvation message and then asked if they'd like to make sure that their sins are forgiven so they can know for sure that they are going to heaven. Larry gave the invitation and you can see by the photo, the altar was filled with those making sure they were saved. That's what life is all about!

The altar call at Evangel Church...Praise the Lord for the great response!

This week is preparation week for our next long tour. Larry switched from a Larry with Harvey Waters from Chisolm, MN, who winters in Arizona. He helped Larry do some repairs on the coach!preacher in a suit into work clothes to be a mechanic. There's always a long list of things to fix on the coach. One thing about this lifestyle is that Larry and I have to be all and do all because Larry and I are all we have, ha! I've been trying to find time in the past week just to get 6 blocks away to the laundromat. I'm sure if I don't make it real soon those clothes will walk over there themselves, ha! On second thought...I wish they would...sure would help me out.

A few days ago I got a chuckle out of our granddaughter, Myanna, who is 7 years old. After a long day at school she came home exhausted, ate, and at about 9 o'clock she flopped up on the bed, laid down by her mom, gave a huge sigh (she's dramatic anyway) and exclaimed "I just don't know what I'm going to do. I don't know how I'm going to get it all done. Life is just too hectic!" Her mother, LaDawn, exhausted from her long work day, put her arm around her and said, "Yeah, I know exactly what your saying." As cute as it sounds, it concerns me to see young children feeling so overwhelmed by the cares of life already. We need to pray for them that they don't succumb to life's pressures at such a young age.

Late last night I was reading the April 2nd Sunday Arizona Republic Newspaper. The caption read, "Buchwald Quipping As He Prepares To Die". There's hardly an adult over 50 today who doesn't know about Art. He is 80 years old and is a Pulitzer Prize winning author. He is dying of kidney and vascular ailments. He chose to quit life-prolonging dialysis. However, the article says, "He's using his unnumbered days to talk deliberately about a topic no one wants to talk about....DEATH". He continues, "Speculated about the hereafter I have no idea where I'm going, but here's the real question: What am I doing here in the first place?"

How tragic! Here's a man who for a quarter of a century has written more than 8,000 newspaper columns, 30 books, and has traveled and spoken world wide as a Pulitzer Prize winning author-and he doesn't know what he's doing here in the first place. Tragically he has missed the true meaning and purpose of life. His eternal destination is definitely in question. I wonder if anyone has presented him with the simple gospel message. If they haven't, I pray someone close to him will. The scripture says, "It is appointed unto man once to die and then the judgement." It would be tragic, to say the least, to know he did all, had it all, and then lost his soul for all eternity. Please pray for him.

Well, I must get back to my office work or my boss will fire me, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! I wish!

Gloria

Will be anxious to talk with you next week!

Chuckle for the Week

A minister parked his car in a no-parking zone in a large city because he was short of time and couldn't find a space with a meter. Then he put a note under the windshield wiper that read, "I have circled the block 10 times. If I don't park here, I'll miss my appointment. Forgive us our trespasses."

When he returned, he found a citation from a police officer along with this note, "I've circled this block for 10 years. If I don't give you a ticket, I'll lose my job. "Lead us not into temptation."
